Photos of Phortse Elders Lincoln Else -- 06/05/2008  This winter I returned to Nepal for another season instructing with the Khumbu Climbing School, a non-profit vocational program dedicated to teaching safe mountaineering skills to Sherpa climbers in the Everest region. While teaching with the program, I had the fortune of being asked to photograph each of the 37 elders living in the small village of Phortse where the school operates.
