Snapshots from Dali, China by Catherine Price

: One afternoon in Dali, China, I took a horse cart to see Erhai Hu--Ear-Shaped Lake. This man was the driver of the horse cart. We started talking and discovered that we both were teachers; as a result, he invited me to his house for dinner. His house was two stories, with beautiful wood carvings decorating the front door. A stable was attached, where he kept pigs and chickens. His wife served me rice with eggplant, squash and tofu, and we sat on short stools in their courtyard holding bowls in our hands, eating dinner as the sun set. The following slides are portraits I took of the driver and his family.
